I was mortified by this storyline when it aired in 1987, just prior to Robin Strasser's character Dorian leaving for an ambassadorship in Mendorra. With this storyline, Dorian's daughter Cassie returned from Europe as a recast (Holly Gagnier) and Cassie soon became attracted to Dorian's then live-in boyfriend, PI Jon Russell. Throughout it all Dorian and her ex-husband, Herb Callison remained close. Herb even began dating again. Despite having significant others and throughout turbulent turns, Herb and Dorian still maintained an adoration and yes, I will say love.
